BioWare Drops Post-Launch Content for Anthem to Focus on Issues With Main Game

BioWare has announced they’re putting the post-launch content for Anthem on hold.

The developer confirmed (via their official blog) they’ll be shelving their post-launch content, so that they can focus on fixing the “core issues” in the base game.

Anthem head of live services Chad Robertson confirmed Act structure for Anthem will be dropped in lieu of addressing the continuous problems found in their Public Test Servers.

Instead, they’ll offer “Seasonal” updates, which they’re hoping will be more flexible in terms of development, alongside regular fixes.

“We hear your concerns on core issues in Anthem and are acting on it. Those systems require a more thorough review and re-working versus quick fixes,” Robertson said.

He added, “We want to be transparent with you that we know more work needs to be done to make Anthem better. We also want to ensure we’re backing up our words with a great game you can play.”

When it comes to the actual future of the game, however, Robertson was reluctant to share anything whatsoever.

“I don’t have any news today to share about the long-term changes we are bringing to Anthem,” he said.

Anthem is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it – you can find our thorough review for the game here.
