Cassandra and Samurai Shodown’s Haohmaru Coming to Soulcalibur VI Season 2

Soulcalibur VI Season 2 is on the way and it will be bringing with it one returning character and one crossover character. Sophitia’s sister Cassandra (last seen in Soulcalibur IV) will be making her return to this weapons-based fighting franchise and she’ll be joined by someone from Samurai Shodown: the legendary Samurai Haohmaru.

Soulcalibur VI Season 2 – Cassandra

First introduced in Soulcalibur II, Cassandra is the sister of the buxom blond Grecian warrior Sophitia. Cassandra was left out of the fifth Soulcalibur game for some reason, but she’s making her return as a downloadable character for the newest entry in the franchise.

While her sister Sophitia has similar equipment and a similar fighting style, the two characters have different philosophies to combat. Sophitia emphasizes defense and careful poking while Cassandra is more of a “rushdown kind of character that is focused on quickly defeating enemies with a flurry of attacks.

Cassandra will be arriving on August 5, 2019 — that’s today! — as an individual piece of DLC for $5.99 or your regional equivalent; she’s also included as part of Soulcalibur VI Season 2.

Soulcalibur VI Season 2 – Haohmaru

Fans may have been surprised to see the announcement of a new crossover character. Following the fitting revival of Samurai Shodown, longtime series favorite Haohmaru will be picking up his sword and engaging in a new battle in the Soul Calibur universe.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see exactly how Haohmaru’s fighting style is being adapted to the Soul Calibur franchise. Presumably, it’s going to be largely the same as we see in Samurai Shodown.

No release date has been announced for Haohmaru.

If you want to add these characters to your game, you can pick up Cassandra on Steam at a price of $5.99 or your regional equivalent right now. A release date for Season 2 or Haohmaru has not yet been announced, but you can probably expect it to cost roughly the same as the first season pass’s price of $29.99.

What do you think of Cassandra and Haohmaru arriving as part of Soulcalibur VI Season 2? What other fighters do you hope to see in Season 2? Let us know in the comments below!
