In the (actual) latest Garfield video game universe news, you can now preorder Garfield Kart: Furious Racing on Amazon. The racing title is available for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. Published by Maximum Games, the kart-racing title releases Tuesday, November 5, 2019.

Garfield Kart: Furious Racing features three different modes: a Grand Prix, time trials, and single races. But, as everyone knows, the real meat of any racing game is in its multiplayer. It supports split-screen for up to four players. Online play is also available, allowing up to eight Garfield fans to race with each other. Nintendo Switch players on the go can also connect with up to seven other devices.

The base game features sixteen different courses. Devoted fans of the Garfield universe will spot familiar places such as Palerock Lake and Pastacosi Factory among the various tracks. With eight different classic characters (Jon, Garfield, Odie, Liz, Squeak, Arlene, Harry, and Nermal), the races are sure to be packed with charm. Nine different items, including a pillow and magic wand, are at your disposal to ruthlessly crush the competition. With careful planning and well-timed item use, players will emerge as the Garfield Kart: Furious Racing champion.

Jon’s world will periodically turn gray if he is reminded of the existence of Nermal. Image courtesy of Amazon page.

Whether Garfield Kart: Furious Racing will add new characters or courses as DLC is currently unclear. Preorders are available now, and the game will officially launch November 5. But, at the very least, Garfield can rest easy that his celebrated kart-racer series will not have its latest title launch on a Monday.

Quick Take

Blue Shells don’t work, Jon.

My mood is being able to say “I’m very tired” in as many languages as possible. I play a lot of tabletop RPGs and sometimes I will play a video game. Talk with me about survival horror.
