Now that Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind has been officially announced, we have more information on the game rather than just a leaked trailer.
In a press release, Square Enix says that the new content in Re:Mind will be presented in a new playable episode that takes place after the events of the main game. It will follow Sora as he attempts to make his way back to his friends after an event that I won’t spoil at the end of Kingdom Hearts III sees him separated from them. In turn, we see that Riku, Kairi, Aqua, and the Hollow Bastion Final Fantasy crew of Leon, Cid, Aerith, and Yuffie are looking for Sora. However, there’s more being added than just this episode. There’s a new “limitcut” and “secret episode”, though what exactly those are is a bit of a mystery. There will be new boss battles, with solo fights against Organization XIII members teased. There’s also a new “Premium menu” that lets you alter the game’s difficulty so you can make it harder to your liking.
In addition to all this, Kingdom Hearts III will get a free update adding more to the game. The free update will be adding Oathkeeper and Oblivion, a pair of popular Keyblades that have made appearances in many other entries to the series. The update will also add in a new limit form and new abilities for Sora to use. There will also be a “main story update”, but what exactly that update is remains a mystery.
Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind will launch on January 23rd, 2020, for PlayStation 4, with the Xbox One version following on February 25th. It will cost $29.99 for just Re:Mind, or $39.99 for Re:Mind and a video of the World of Tres orchestra concert.
How do you feel about Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind? Going to pick up the update? Been waiting for it to play through Kingdom Hearts III? Can you tell me, at any point, what the plot is actually about? Let us know in the comments below!
