Have you always wanted to make your own Minecraft character within the actual game’s engine? Well, you’re in luck. Mojang is introducing a new character creator to its smash-hit creativity sandbox.
The character creation update comes as part of the Minecraft version 22.214.171.124 beta. It’s currently available to download if you’re playing on Xbox One, Windows 10, or Android. There’s no word yet on when the feature could be coming to other platforms. As it stands, the creator allows you to choose from around 100 customization items for free. These include hairstyles, body types, different colors, and skin tones. You can also buy a range of accessories from the store if you’re that way inclined. You can check out a demonstration of the Minecraft character creator right here (warning, it’s pretty long):
This won’t impact your ability to import custom skins as you always have; it’s just a nice little addition that Minecraft and Mojang are throwing your way. Version 126.96.36.199 doesn’t just add a character creator though. There’s a whole host of bug fixes and minor gameplay improvements that players on this patch can enjoy. You can take a look at the full patch notes right here if you want to see a complete changelog. The notes also contain instructions on how to join or leave Minecraft‘s beta program.
You can check out the Minecraft character creator beta right now on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Android. Once the beta is over, the update will also come to other Bedrock platforms (which doesn’t include the PlayStation 4, but does include the Nintendo Switch). In the meantime, if you want to have your say on which biome Mojang should update next, go take a look at their survey.
