Nutaku Unleashes Tantalizing Fairy Tales with Otogi Frontier

Otogi Frontier is the newest free-to-play game from Nutaku and it puts a devilish spin on classic fairy tales. Transported into the world of Otogiland, you’ve found that monsters are attacking this fantasy world. It also happens to be filled with sexy girls based on the classic tales of old like Cinderella and Snow White.

Players can form a party of up to six girls (with a seventh NPC joining in on certain quests), although only five can go into the field at a time. Defeat the bad guys in battle and you’ll be able to progress further along in the main storyline!

Battles in Otogi Frontier take place in a hybrid real-time/turn-based system.

What is Otogi Frontier Gameplay Like?

So, what are the fights like in Otogi Frontier? This lewd fantasy game mixes turn-based battles and real-time battles into an interesting hybrid system. It may seem counterintuitive at first, but it’s really quite simple. Characters will automatically complete actions based on their speed stat; a character with a higher stat will be able to attack faster.

This being a Nutaku game, one would expect there to be some kind of adult entertainment. There is, of course — you can unlock animated CG scenes with the girls as you power them up. While they do have Japanese voice acting, they are also (rather unfortunately) pixelated with no apparent way to disable it. A damn shame.

Bear in mind that this is also a free-to-play game with all that entails; there’s a gacha system for unlocking girls. You’re by no means required to buy anything, but you can speed things up by getting more girls through the in-game item shop.

If this seems like the sort of game you’d like to check out, you can play Otogi Frontier on Nutaku for free right now [NSFW].

I’ve had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven’t stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs – I’ve tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I’m always looking to try more!
