Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Moseying Over to Steam Next Week

Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang have been up to their wild west adventures on PC for close to a month, and just made their debut on Google Stadia, but ride-or-die Steam customers still have just a bit longer to wait. Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 will come to Valve’s storefront next week on December 5.

Rockstar launched the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 on a handful of other digital storefronts earlier this month. You even have the option of buying Red Dead Redemption 2 through the Rockstar Game Launcher, which will presumably still be required for playing the Steam release.

Steam users will hopefully run into fewer bugs and crashes than other players did during Red Dead Redemption 2’s debut week on PC. Since launch, Red Dead’s been getting a steady stream of patches—last week Rockstar tracked down a particularly annoying stuttering issue that affected players running certain Nvidia drivers.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will miss Steam’s autumn sale by just a few days, and it’s currently on sale for Black Friday at the Epic Games Store and on Green Man Gaming. If you’ve waited this long already for the Steam release then that might not be a deal-breaker, but any money saved could go towards souping up your PC for crisper, smoother cowboy antics.
