Resident Evil 3 Remake Outed in Multiple Reports

Resident Evil 3 Remake is coming in 2020, according to a new report. Yesterday, YouTube channel SpawnWave published a video claiming that a Resident Evil 3 remake was in development at Capcom. This has today been backed up by our sister site Eurogamer, which has also heard that the game is in active development.

The remake of Resident Evil 3 has been in development for some time, according to Eurogamer’s sources. This all comes after sources speaking to VGC yesterday, the same day that SpawnWave published its video, confirmed the existence of the remake.

A remake of Resident Evil 3 makes perfect sense for Capcom. The Resident Evil 2 Remake was released in January this year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and has sold close to 5 million copies worldwide at the time of writing.

Although the Resident Evil 3 remake is scheduled to launch in 2020, multiplayer spin-off Project Resistance is also slated to launch next year, having recently been in closed beta last month in October. Project Resistance places four co-op players together, and tasks them to survive an undead-filled scenario, with one opposing player deploying zombified minions against them.

If you haven’t yet played the impressive remake earlier this year from Capcom, check out what we made of it in our Resident Evil 2 review.
