Hot on the heels of the reveal of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft’s next generation of hardware previously referred to as Project Scarlett, Xbox head Phil Spencer showed off the first trailer for Ninja Theory’s next game—it’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.
Microsoft acquired Ninja Theory in 2018. Since then, we’ve seen a lot of its multiplayer title Bleeding Edge, but here we have it: a fully fledged sequel to 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Before you get tripped up on the title/subtitle reversal or too spooked by the intense chanting in the trailer, note that Phil Spencer says this trailer was captured in-engine. That makes it one of our earliest looks at what Microsoft’s targeting for Xbox Series X visuals.
