Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Digital Launch Exceeds All Other Star Wars Games

The Force seems to be pretty strong with Respawn Entertainment’s take on the Star Wars franchise. In a press release this morning, Electronic Arts announced that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has become the fastest-selling digital launch for a Star Wars game.

While it notes digital specifically, the release (via BusinessWire) also says Fallen Order is already EA’s top-selling Star Wars title on PC for the initial launch window. From those two high marks, it looks like it’s pretty popular on PC, which might seem strange unless you consider games like Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and their plentiful mods on PCs. If only we could do some Movie Battles on Fallen Order.

Kat was pretty impressed with Respawn’s take on Jedi lightsaber combat in Fallen Order, though it did have some technical shortcomings and other issues which might resolve better on a souped-up PC.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s numbers are fairly impressive, but whether it has a long tail like other Star Wars games remains to be seen. Analyst Daniel Ahmad tweeted some numbers today to show just how other recent Star Wars titles have panned out:

Either way, Fallen Order does seem like a success for both the franchise and Respawn. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it get some more support in the future.
