Tetris Effect Makes PC Debut on the Epic Games Store Next Week

The Tetris formula retains incredible potential, if the release of last year’s Tetris Effect was any indication. The highly-praised Tetris Effect is originally a PS4-only title, and it now launches for PC on the Epic Games Store next week on July 23.

Tetris Effect is a super flashy version of the original Tetris game. It utilizes VR (as an optional feature) with unique, hypnotic backgrounds as you stack those Tetriminos. The game also features over 30 different stages and 10 separate game modes, adding a great deal of replayability to an already addictive formula.

Tetris Effect includes several PC exclusive features, as listed on the store page:

Unlocked resolution and uncapped framerate if Vsync is disabled, increased texture and particle effect options, support for super high-resolution and ultrawide monitors, and more.

Tetris Effect is available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store right now for a discounted price of $31.99, down from $39.99. Pre-ordering Tetris Effect gives players several 4K wallpapers for their desktop and a soundtrack sampler. This offer lasts from now until August 6th.

The PC version launches next week on July 23, 2019, exclusively on the Epic Games Store. If you’re interested in how the game plays or if it’s any good, be sure to read our review.

Quick Take

As one of the unfortunate souls who does not own a PS4, I haven’t had a chance to experience Tetris Effect for myself. I’m not the greatest at Tetris games, nor do I claim to have much experience with them. Still, I’m intrigued by this one due to the overwhelmingly positive reception. Can Tetris really be that good? Maybe it’s time for me to find out, since I do have a PC, thank goodness.
