SPOILERS:
It is theorized that the Cube (Kevin) is actually the Storm King. After you defeat him in Save the World, he spins around and turns into the purple cube. If you remember the Butterfly event, this is exactly what the cube did before disappearing. We might get the cube back after defeating the Storm King, but it will most likely not play a significant role.
