As consumers are looking towards big hits to fill up their summer schedule, they may be a little disappointed in August’s offerings. After a few strong months there may still be something on offer to pique your interests.

Madden NFL 20 (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

The latest in the biggest American-football-based franchise, Madden NFL 20 comes to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Aug. 2. With an updated roster of players, you can also create your own character and take part in the college playoffs.

The Church in the Darkness (Microsoft Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

This new game from Paranoid Productions puts you in the shoes of Vic, a former police officer who tries to infiltrate a cult and save his nephew. The story changes with every playthrough, and The Church in the Darkness boasts multiple endings. It’s launching on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

An all new title for the popular tactical series, Age of Wonders: Planetfall comes to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Aug. 6. Build your empire using one of unique factions.

Metal Wolf Chaos XD (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

15 years after the original release, Metal Wolf Chaos gets a whole new look.

Originally released back in 2004 as an Xbox exclusive in Japan, Metal Wolf Chaos XD sees a whole new release for this previously rare title coming to Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on August 6.

Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)

Delayed from May, the Guacamelee! One-Two Punch Collection comes to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on August 6. This is the first time that both Guacamelee! games will be available in one package.

DC Universe Online (Nintendo Switch)

Released previously for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4, DC Universe Online comes to Nintendo Switch on August 6. Create your own superhero or supervillian and fight alongside some of the DC classics in the MMO game.

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition (Nintendo Switch)

Released in 2015 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition comes to Nintendo Switch on August 6. This is the complete edition of Darksiders II including all of the DLC.

Gravity Ghost (PlayStation 4)

Originally exclusive to Microsoft Windows back in 2014 indie hit Gravity Ghost comes to PlayStation 4. Run, jump and orbit your way around a hand painted universe using gravity to move.

The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

From the popular series of books and films The Lord of the Rings, the new card game  The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game sees a full release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 8. It has been in early access on PC since last year.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition (Nintendo Switch)

The acclaimed old-school RPG from Obsidian is making its way to Nintendo’s hybrid console. Pillars of Eternity: Compete Edition will retail for $49.99, but pre-orders and purchases in the first week will only cost $39.99.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Complete Edition (Nintendo Switch)

Released in January this year for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, the complete edition of Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet finally comes to Nintendo Switch on August 9. It includes all the DLC with the season pass. You can read our review of the base game here.

Friday the 13th (Nintendo Switch)

Originally slated for spring, the complete edition for Friday the 13th comes physically to Nintendo Switch on August 13. This edition includes all previously released DLC. There will also be an eight-player multiplayer and single-player mode.

Created by Square Enix and the Tokyo RPG Factory, Oninaki comes to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on August 22. Switch between battling your way through the living world and the land of the dead.

Life is Strange 2: Episode 4 (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
