Wargroove’s Double Trouble DLC Announced

Developer Chucklefish has announced the first major DLC for Wargroove, titled Double Trouble.

Designed specifically with co-op play in mind, Wargroove: Double Trouble adds a brand new co-op story campaign, which can be played as either couch, online, or even solo play. The campaign involves three new outlaw commanders; the mighty warrior Wulfar, the twins Errol and Orla, and the mysterious, maleficent Vesper. The three must band together after an unexpected kidnapping and severe ransom demands force the group to perform “the biggest heist that Aurania has ever seen.”

Along with the three new commanders, two new units are also being added to Wargroove: Double Trouble, the sneaky thief and the long-range rifleman. Other additions include new arcade missions, new “Outlaw music tracks” by composer Phonetic Hero, and competitive online quick play maps and public and private multiplayer lobbies.

One final addition will be brand new editor tools that will give players more control over your custom maps, campaigns, and cutscenes. The first major addition includes Unit Modifiers, which allow players to modify the damage of any unit or structure. Metalocations – indicators where things last happened on the map such as the last attacker, last unit used and so forth – will be given support, as are new actions for counters and new placeable items, levers and chests called gizmos. Map upload slots are also increased so players can upload more maps at once. Finally, a new volcano biome was added to the map builder.

The addition of editor tools, units, and new commanders is also just scratching the surface for Double Trouble, as Chucklefish also noted that the game will have a number of much-needed balance changes to the cost and damage of several units, the rush speed of some commanders, and more.

Wargroove: Double Trouble does not have a release date at this time, but for players looking for a physical copy of the game on consoles will see a Deluxe Edition coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 29th.
